About Golf Empire
Golf Empire was set up in 2005 for the simple reason of making it easier for golfers to find out about and enter open golf competitions throughout the UK. Over the last few years our site has developed into one of the most used and useful resources for golfers trying to locate where and when open events are played. Listing thousands of events our website links golfers with those golf clubs which are actively looking to promote their open competitions, a true win-win!
With the introduction of the internet the way in which golfers now search for open events to play in has changed. Gone are the days when a golf club could simply provide a folder in the clubhouse with posters of competitions from nearby golf courses or rely on golfers finding out about their events through other dated means. Golfers now demand more when it comes to entering open golf competitions and we hope our website can go someway to providing that for them.
The website is purely a hobby for the creator, fuelled out of the frustration of not easily being able to find entry forms for open golf competitions to play in himself! Because of the site being nothing more than a hobby is actually the main reason for its success and popularity. This is due to the fact that Golf Empire do not charge golf clubs to list their events on the website nor do we require our visitors to register or pay to have access to our services. This is great for golf clubs as they literally have nothing to lose by having their events listed and even better for golfers because more clubs are happy to list their events ultimately giving more choices for the golfer, another win-win! You will see some relevant golf related ads from Google running on the site which simply help cover the cost of our web hosting and domain registration fees.
Golfers can search for events by their chosen county or by the type of event they wish to play in, then simply print out the entry form and post it directly to the golf club. Covering 39 counties throughout England and also Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland we provide golfers nationwide with access to entry forms for open events in their area.
